Heavy Chicken Wire
Heavy chicken wire is also called gabion wire mesh, made with much more thick wire than the common chicken wire material. It has a durable structure and a strong physical strength.
Heavy chicken wire is made of hexagonal woven wire, filled with rock at the project site to form flexible, permeable, monolithic structures such as retaining walls, channel linings and weirs for erosion control projects. The steel wire used in the manufacture of the heavy chicken wire is heavily zinc coated. In order to reinforce the structure, all mesh panel edges are selvedged with a wire with a more strong diameter than the mesh wire. The heavy chicken wire is divided into cells by means of diaphragms positioned at approximately 1m centre.
Heavy chicken wire shall be supplied in various lengths, widths and heights. In order to strengthen the baskets, all the edges of the structure shall be selvedged with wire of greater diameter.
