WORLD ON A WIRE (WELT AM DRAHT), the German science fiction classic and The Matrix precursor, was unavailable for viewing for more than 30 years.
He appeared in several films directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder, beginning with Pioneers in Ingolstadt (1971) and notably including Welt am Draht (1972) and The Marriage of Maria Braun (1979).
Between 1961 and 1973, Galouye wrote five novels, notably Simulacron Three, basis of the movie The Thirteenth Floor (1999) and the German TV miniseries, Welt am Draht (1973) (directed by Rainer Werner Fassbinder).
