The cloth mesh is cut with tin snips and shaped for specific projects in a home or on a property, including coverings for window and screen doors, chicken run, rabbit fence, tree guards, drains, gutters, under eaves, soil sifters, and much more.
- Material & Size: Heavy duty hot dipped galvanized hardware cloth, providing a double zinc coating for maximum rust resistance and long life, measures 48 inch 50 foot, cut easily with scissors. Molded or folded as needed without any problems. The 1/4-inch mesh roll is flexible and tight enough to leave out larger ground crawling arachnids.

- Step 1: Measure the location where you are installing the hardware cloth to determine the proper length and width.
- Step 2 : Cut the hardware cloth using a pair of tin snips and following the marker lines.
- Step 3 : Hammer the fencing nails in along all edges of the hardware cloth to hold it in place.

We used this to build an extended run for our chickens. The 1/4" size is good for keeping out snakes, large bugs, and other critters. We completed the pen about 4 months ago and the hardware cloth has held up well, even in Florida tropical storm and hurricane weather. No rusting has occurred, which is very important. The reason I did not give this cloth a 5 star review is because there are some quality issues. During the manufacturing process, 1. there were some sloppy lines, meaning that the lines on the wire are not straight and this is a concern when cutting the material to fit a squared space. 2. sometimes there were broken lines of wire 3. it is "warped". The metal comes in a roll which naturally causes it to curl - that is not my complaint. Once the metal has been pulled flat onto a frame, it has "bubbles" in it. It will not lay perfectly flat, even when stretched and nailed to a wood frame. This causes some gaping on the wood frame. For us this meant using a lot more nails to keep critters from squeezing in through the gaps and getting to the chicken feed. Overall, it has worked and I was glad to find 4ft rolls.

This will for sure keep my chickens super safe, unless Mr Raccoon, Mr Fox, or Mr Possums runs around with wire cutters hes SOL.. It arrived in a nice tight roll covered in plastic. Please note like any time your working with wire wear gloves and dont wear shorts like I did and end up looking like you went 10 rounds with a rose bush.

We have raised garden beds that are fenced to keep out the deer. However, last year we had several plants get destroyed by a pocket gopher. The beds are very old, (were here when we bought the place) and in need of replacement, so we're going to replace the rotting railroad ties with bricks and start over. We bought this to place on the ground first followed by a weed barrier cloth, the bricks, and finally the dirt. We shopped around quite a bit, and this was the absolute best deal around. The metal is of high quality, thick, and should keep out both moles, and gophers, and even snakes. I can also use some of the left over, to make a screen to sift some of the dirt from rocks and weeds.

I bought and installed this Hardware Cloth under my raised planting beds and also to cover an opening into my attic that squirrels had opened. It has kept the squirrels out of the attic and the moles from the planting beds. Very well made! Just made sure you wear leather gloves and jeans when working with this stuff. Left some blood around when I worked it with thongs, shorts and cotton gloves.
A tip! To get a precise cut along the bottom of the planting beds, I used a Dremel tool with a metal cutting disk and it worked great! And was easier on my skin than the tin snips.

I used this to line the bottom of a raised garden bed to stop moles from getting in from underneath. The edges are sharp and will stab you. It is wound up pretty tight and will try to unwind if you don't keep it wrapped somehow and it will stab you. The edges of it will catch on itself when wound up and it will stab you. It will stab you. Wear gloves. Other than stabbing you, it's good stuff! We used the excess to make little square cages to go over our new seedlings... should stop birds and squirrels from getting the new tender shoots... unless they want to get stabbed.

After modifying the frame to support the extra weight I covered the framework with the metal mesh cloth and anchored it in place with tie wraps. The result is NO Critters eating the Tomato plants. The process was a full days work but We will leave it in place as I anchored it to a cement slab in the pool mechanical space to conceal it.
